While a small change, you stare at this thing for hours so it needs to be pretty. I find the playlist is so much easier on the eyes too for longer periods of time, since it’s nice and rounded off.

No more big fussy WINDOWS PAINT type gui. Noticing a lot of little things in FL11 that are new that I figured I would, especially considering I’m running both right now just for pure paranoia and insurance. Simple quality of life stuff but those little things that ease workflow and organization a lot like when you rename a pattern, the color box just pops up beside it all giant like with this nice color selector. I haven’t gone through all of my projects, but been slowly importing my newer mixes that deserve finishing into 11 with successful results.

It will be fixed in the next small update according to FL forums. Aside from GMS, which the last thing I really need is another synth at this point. Still no major bugs or crashing that I’ve found…yet. If you run out, just render and make more! Still though if you are using external hardware to record tons of audio or want to use a lot of ROMpling, you’ll need to pay attention to it, just not near as much as you need to pay to your CPU.Īnd remember in computer electronic music CPU = creativity. This is less of a big deal in FL 11 because the RAM switch of yesteryear is automatically enabled giving you more RAM headroom by default.

Just to double check and possibly free up some RAM you can simply select Keep On Disc under the channel settings. Technically FL is a sampler by nature so it considers any audio loaded into the sampler itself unless you specify to not do so. ((Optional)) – Large audio can be kept as disc read so it won’t take up RAM. ALWAYS back this up first though. You can also disable the synth plug if there was one, and back that up as well so it’s not eating up CPU.Ħ. At this point you will need to remove the channel FX from it so they aren’t doubled if you had any. You will likely want to assign it back to the original channel it resided in especially if it had sends on it which won’t be rendered obviously. You’ll now have your wav on the Playlist. If the mixer isn’t in focus it brings up the randomize function, so hit F9 just to make sure before you render. Select your preferred settings and hit Startĥ. With the Mixer as the focused window hit alt+R. On the Playlist grab the section you want to bounce. I always leave a bar or so on each end so your attacks and decays aren’t chopped.Ĥ. Even whole groups. (disc will be orange when it’s selected similar to the FX icon above it)ģ. You do this by using the little disc icon underneath them to select as little or as many as you want. On the Mixer you can choose which channels you want to bounce by arming them for render. Needless check box IMO, because I default to 24 bit but you can do 16 bit for soundfx and things that really don’t matter just for disk space.Ģ. If not you can pick your bitrate on actual render.

Won’t write the essay on why.ģ2 bit Float – If you want it to be 32 bit by default check this. Check itĪuto Create Audio Clip – The entire point of doing this is to get a wav on the playlist, so check it. These are the settings as follows:Īuto Unarm – Will deselect the track you bounced automatically. Select the triangle drop down in the upper left corner. – I want to compile all my soundfx into one lane or wavġ. – I want to glitch the shit out of a synthline with hand editing. – I’m towards the end of a mix and want to free up CPU or mixer lanes of clutter and want to compile layers I’m happy with. – I’m working on a track and my CPU is taking a huge hit from an FX chain + Synth and I want to free up CPU for other stuff. It’s called Disk Rendering in FL Studio, which makes sense, but. However, there is an effective way to manage the same operation albeit hidden from plain sight. For people who are used to hearing the term Freeze or Bounce (Aka: Render in Place) from other DAWS may notice that FL Studio doesn’t directly have the nice “one button” features of other DAWS and really needs to advance out of the last generation. This IS a documented feature but it’s very poorly worded IMO.
